Giving is Worship
When you give, you help people. You help the ministry of the church. You and the church help others. You build community. You share in this community and you grow in this community. When you give you are partnering with God.

We are blessed with what we have and we can be a blessing to others through giving. God has abundantly given us all that we need, and so we are able to help others using what God has given us.
Why do YOU give?
Giving by reason means this – I look at what I have, I figure out what’s reasonable, and I commit that amount. I just figure out what can I afford to give.
1 Peter 4:10 says: Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. (Because we’ve been given what we need, we give to others.) Exodus 23:19 The choicest of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God. (No one should donate an old beat-up couch to the church. They should buy a new living room set and bring that couch in!)
Giving by revelation means I determine my gift by praying “Lord, what do you want to give through me?” When you give by revelation, you’re committing an act of worship and saying, “How much am I willing to trust God?” Matthew 6:3 reads But when you give alms, do not lest your left hand know what your girth hand is doing. (Give when needed, even if it doesn’t fit in your budget.) Mark 12:41-44 The widow put in her two small coins, worth very little. But she gave all that she had to live on, fully trusting that God would provide.
